Romania has introduced new border measures. Because of the geographical position of Romania, at the Black Sea coast and as a new EU member, it is crucial to have a good customs enforcement system in place in Romania. Essential for a good enforcement system are legislative provisions, a smooth working administration and a reliable contact point. Therefeore REACT has supported the creation of a Romanian anti-counterfeiting association. This associtation will be capable of assisting members of REACT units at fixed rates with anti counterfeiting actions.
SNB-REACT has a joint venture with the lawfirm Turcu & Turcu to provide the following services in Romania:
Monitoring of the internal Romanian market in order to discover and analyse the counterfeiting problem:
- the supervision by means of local inspectors of the main market places
- the monthly reports on the cases discovered on those markets
- the transmission on demand of digital images of the products that constitute a risk of counterfeiting
- identification of trends in counterfeiting
- the purchase on demand of goods and the constitution of evidence for expertise
- the investigation on demand of suspected companies
Customs and civil actions are € 350 per case as long as they stay within 4 hrs work
