The importance of Russia as an enormous consumer market does not have to be explained. Russian customs is increasingly active at the borders as well as ‘post – audit’ at a local level. This needs in our opinion to be supported by rights owners to be able to build up a consistent IPR enforcement system. However, many rights owners look up against the bureaucratic Russian formalities and exorbitant fees. SNB-REACT is trying to improve this system and to that end it concluded an agreement with Shevyrev & partners based in Moscow. This  to enable our members to act in Russia with a reliable partner at very modest fees.

Shevyrev & partner is one of the first law firms in Russia to deal with protection of intellectual property: suppression of parallel import, of production and sale of infringing goods bearing the trademarks of major Western companies, in the Russian Federation.

1. Law enforcers’ actions in the post control stage and at the borders: € 185 ex expenses
2. When the action 1 does not work, an administrative complaint needs to be filed which should result in an organization and supervision of raid action: € 400 per brand owner;
The action will include:
- Filing a claim,
- raid organization in one point of sales,
- sample photos/ paperwork from/to law enforcer,
- submission affidavit,
- expert participation/ legal supervision

If only one brand owner participates in one point of sales raid, the raid is charged by the national partner to SNB-REACT at a fee of €650.
